“This is a chypre fragrance evoked by the transcendental discovery of her past, present and future echoed in this fragmented memoir.” from the official site
“Memoir Woman is a scent of shadows. A mystical Chypre that borrows the Absinth top-notes of Memoir Man and unites them with a dance of Pink Pepper and Cardamom. Dark Woods, Frankincense with White Blossoms, shimmering Jasmine and Rose provide the richly-beating heart notes while Labdanum, Leather, Musk and Oakmoss at the base provide a smoky, sultry conclusion to the fragrance. ” from www.luckyscent.com
Memoir Woman was created by Daniel Maurel and Dorothee Piot and was launched in 2010.
TOP NOTES: Cardamom, Mandarin orange, Pink pepper, Warmwood
MIDDLE NOTES: Clove, Incense, Pepper, Woodsy notes, Jasmine, Rose, White flowers
BASE NOTES: Musk, French labdanum, Oakmoss, Styrax, Leather, Castoreum
How should I start? Lovely, interesting and full of personality. It opens, to my nose, with dried fruits mixed with spices. The incense comes and goes, leaving the desire to go deeper and deeper in the perfume’s heart.
Memoir is rich and sexy, and it makes you think of an ancient goddess from an oriental country. The incense smell always leads me to the religious rituals of ancient times, filled with mystery and broken from other worlds unknown to man. The scent has a sweet side which, combined with the smell of incense, turns into a poem, so beautiful is.
I am a big fan of good old chypres. This one is a modern chypre but it still has conquered my heart. Memoir is a magnificent, multifaceted fragrance.
The drydown is balsamic and warm with some incense effect. Although there is a leathery note listed, I can’t find in the perfume base. It has very good sillage and very good longevity.
I think this is a fragrance that deserves to be known and worn. I can accept that is not a perfume for everyone but it screams for a try. I think I am in love.
